Methodist Hymnal (1876)

I have constructed a linked title index to the Public Domain edition of John Wesley's Collection of Hymns for the People called Methodists. The text is from the final hymnbook of that name published in 1876. The first 539 of these hymns are substantially in the form published by John Wesley in 1780, while the remainder of the work is a Supplement. The details of this electronic edition may be found on this CCEL page.

Daily Bible Text

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2:38.

Daily Thought

At the very outset of the Christian life every believer should be taught its foundation principles. He should be taught that he is not merely to be saved by Christ's sacrifice, but that he is to make the life of Christ his life and the character of Christ his character.

Christ's Object Lessons, p. 57, 58.
